Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is a professional association leading the way to help patients obtain the medications they need at a cost they can afford! Managed care pharmacists are involved in management of population health and providing patient-centered care as an integral and valuable member of the health care team. Managed care pharmacists are also responsible for the development and use of a broad and diversified range of clinical and quality-oriented drug management services. Specific managed care roles include prior authorization and claims processing, pharmacy provider network management, drug formulary management, pharmaceutical manufacturer contracting and clinical programs – all designed to provide safe and effective pharmacy benefit outcomes while keeping the costs reasonable! The mission of our student chapter is to promote awareness and provide opportunities in managed care pharmacy to the students!
